Broadcast are an electronic/ 60s chanson/ lounge pop act. The group formed in the mid 90s and slowly disbanded until the lead singer, Trish Keenan, passed from pneumonia in 2011. Their music sounds like what a Charlotte Gainsbourg and Yes collaboration would produce. Fans of Stereolab and Kraftwerk may enjoy.
I don't know if it's the poor quality of all their videos, Trish Keenan's effortless vocal quality, the lyrics, or the infectiousness beats, but Broadcast have become one of my best kept secrets.
I'm really excited about life in general lately. Finally, I have time to breathe and assess my life (not to sound all vague and angsty) I have so many exciting things I want to post, but I don't know if others will find them interesting. I'll just post them anyway, I guess. Today, figured I'd switch things up a bit. I haven't done a band profile in a while, and I've been listening to alot of 90's/shoegaze/synthy bands lately to complement my frame of mind. I really like Broadcast, but I don't hear about them alot on the interwebz so I figured I'd share...
WHAT BANDS DO YOU LIKE, THAT YOU RARELY HEAR PEOPLE TALK ABOUT?
(sorry if this seems like a really lame question, but I'm curious)
-Peace & Hair Grease.
Thanks for introducing me to them theyre really good! I like music by Susanne Sundfor, who is this amazing (i think sweadish) girl who I never hear anyone talk about. Her music's kind of creepy, and sounds like the soundtrack to any fairytale ever :)
