Saturday's Song: Le Premier Bonheur Du Jour - Os Mutantes

Os Mutantes - Le Premiere Bonheur Du Jour

Os Mutantes (or The Mutants) are a popular Tropicália band from Sao Paulo, Brazil. Their music blends some elements of Indigenous Music with Folk, Psychedelia, and Funk. The band counts many among their fans, including; Kurt Cobain, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Flying Lotus, and David Bryne! They recently reunited after an almost 30 year hiatus and are still active. I myself am partial to this cover of Francois Hardy's Le Premier Bonheur Du Jour, from their titular debut album.

Can I Kick It?

Le Tigre - Eau De Bedroom Dancing

Ebay is a drug.

I've essentially isolated myself from everything in an attempt to do well in school. I've also put myself on the strictest of budgets. So cutting out all of the unnecessary things like eating out, stalking thrift stores on half off Wednesdays (for clothes I don't need), and going out every weekend has been beneficial. But I am a MATERIAL GIRL DAMMIT! So I tell myself for every two A's on exams I can buy one item on my wishlist.
Hunter Green Oxfords - Marais (ON SALE)
Stockings - Gift

Digi Floral Janoskis (Nike) - Ebay
Socks - They're from like the 6th grade...I was really into Bratz

Boots - Palladium
Socks - Shop with Romi (Pack of 3!)
Pants - H&M
I don't know if people dig these "This is what I purchased" posts, but it must beat all the music posts I've had featured... I'm surely putting my photography class skills to good use with these god-awful webcam pictures (lol) and don't worry "real" content is on the way!

Lemme know what you think in the comments section.

Saturday's Song: Takeshi Terauchi & The Bunnys

Here at Quirks of Blazoning Pens, when I'm being far too lazy to make an actual post, I like to share some of the music I listen to. Hopefully, its new to some and interesting to many...

The Bunnys - Musume Doujyouji

The Bunnys are a 60s surf rock/ rockabilly outfit, headed by popular guitarist Takeshi Terauchi, from Nippon, Japan. Inspired by the likes of The Ventures and The "Eleki" rock movement, the band rose to prominence in the mid 1960s, but disbanded after only a few years. Read more about the band and Takeshi Terauchi here. Download/listen to more of their songs here.

Saturday's Song : Jimmy Mack - Martha & The Vandellas

I caught a special on 60's girl groups a while back and I've been working my way through the music of the featured artists. Martha and the Vandellas were a popular doo-wop trio on Motown's imprint. You can read the interesting history of the song here.
There's a great video of them performing the song, but it won't play on this site. (✖╭╮✖)
I have a couple things I'm toying with posting on the ol' blog, but I think I have "publish" anxiety or something (like that's real thing...) So expect to hear from me soon.
